I’ve come to believe through my own healing journey, as well as through my education, that each person has inside of them a unique form of personal wisdom, and a purely authentic way of being. Yet over the course of life, the mistreatment, abuse, and trauma we experience can obscure our access to these internal resources.
I myself have suffered through trauma, deep anxiety, and very dark places. I know what it is like to feel buried underneath the weight of thoughts, emotions, and destructive behaviours. Thankfully, with the right mental health support, powerful techniques, and a deep willingness to heal, I was able to emerge from those dark places, and enter a life of connection, purpose, and love.
The experience of transcending many of my own struggles is why I believe counselling offers such incredible value, and why I’m in the profession – for it aims to help others find their true selves, and in doing so, live in health and joy.
My purpose is to offer that kind of help to you.
Every person is unique, and so are their needs. That's why my treatment plans are crafted with your unique values, strengths, and circumstances in mind. I use multiple different cutting-edge, and evidence-based techniques and strategies, and you can learn about them here.

Tim is a Master’s Degree level psychotherapist and a Certified Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (Member #:10003614, MC, C.C.C.) Tim’s approach to healing is a blend of both evidenced-based modalities (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rogerian, and Lifespan-Integration), and cutting-edge approaches such as The Work of Byron Katie, The Sedona Method, and Mindfulness.
Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and his Master of Counselling at Gonzaga University of Spokane. Tim is also a long-time meditation practitioner, having spent over two thousand hours in self-exploration and self-inquiry. Tim is a graduate of the School for the Work of Byron Katie and Turnaround House, and is deeply involved in the men’s-work and men’s-healing community.
Before establishing a career in mental health, Tim was a hospitality professional and restaurant manager, as well as a devoted activist for Greenpeace International and other social and environmental organizations.
When Tim isn’t helping people find their true selves and creating lives they love, you can find him longboarding, dancing, or curled up with a good book.
